Pilipino American InterVarsity
Staff: Justin & Melissa Casiano-Sebastian
Kamusta Pilipino InterVarsity Chicago! We are students and staff from all across the city who eat at God’s kamayan feast and learn how to cook that meal for others on campus.
We exist because often times, we enter spaces of faith but often hide our Pilipinx identity. On the flip side, we may often be in Pilipinx spaces but not know how our culture intersects with our faith. Rather than compartmentalizing our two God-given identities, God invites us to feast on campus in our Pilipinx way - by taking our shoes off and eating with our hands.
Not only do we eat this rich feast from God, but He is calling us to prepare and cook this meal for others on campus so that they too can know God’s love for them. (Luke 14:15).
Right now, God has blessed us with movements at Loyola, NEIU and UIC, and is beginning to move the hearts of students for a Pilipino American chapter at Wilbur Wright! Who else is hungry?
